Christ is the true Prophet who leads you to God, the true Priest who blocks all disasters, and the true King who broke the power of Satan. When you believe this and pray, even your questions become prayers that God answers. Why do you struggle with poverty, illness, and hardships while failing to evangelize? Why do churches close even though there are many pastors? Why did God send you here? Why must you build the temple? God answered these very questions. When Jacob was left alone, he entered a decisive moment in life and discovered what truly mattered. While fleeing conflict with Esau, he encountered angels at Bethel and received God’s promise to bring him back. Later, in the midst of a dispute over wealth with his uncle and a crisis at the Jabbok River, Jacob prayed before God and made his life decision. What did Jacob hold onto during these moments?
1. The Fundamental Mission
Jacob held on to the fundamental mission God had originally given to Abraham. In doing so, God gave to Jacob the covenant of Israel, in which would save the world and make him victorious. This was a time of recovering the key blessing, the covenantal blessing, fundamental blessing, representative blessing, commemorative blessing, and irresistible blessing. It was a crucial moment of restoring the important answer.
2. The Mission of Your Family Line
Jacob held onto the family mission that had been given to his grandfather and father, the promise that he would become victorious and prevail with both God and people, and that through his offspring, all nations on earth would be blessed. Because of this covenant for world evangelization, he received the hundredfold blessing and the blessing of Rehoboth.
3. The Mission Given Personally to You
God specifically gave a mission to Jacob. God sent His angel to bless Jacob and strengthen him. That’s when his name changed to Israel.
When you pray, the Triune God works invisibly through the Holy Spirit. At that moment, the Bartizan of the Throne, the Journey, and the Guideposts are established. That’s when the forces of darkness are bound, and God mobilizes His heavenly army.
Dear God, may I have an alone time with You, as if I'm praying to you at Jabbok River like Jacob had done. Let it be a time to restore the name “Israel.” May You mobilize Your heavenly army even now so that Your Word may be fulfilled. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
