A New Start
1 Kings 19:1~8 And the angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you.” And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God. (7~8)

Elijah was victorious in his spiritual battle against the false prophets at Carmel. King Ahab who knew this commanded that Elijah be put to death. Elijah fled and on his way collapsed underneath a broom tree. At that time, Elijah thought that everything was over. However, God began a new start for him. Elijah who arrived at Mt. Horeb heard God in a still small voice. What is the new start that God has prepared for you?
1. The Start of Health
Elijah collapsed underneath a broom tree. At that place, he thought about his death(1 Kings 19:4). God sent His angels and unknown to others, He gave Elijah strength(1 Kings 19:5). With the power that Elijah gained, he walked for forty days and nights and finally arrived at Mt. Horeb(1 Kings 19:8). This is the start of God-given health. If God gives you power, amazing strength that people do not know about comes forth.
2. The Start of Raising Disciples
The Word of God came upon Elijah(1 Kings 19:9). God’s Word was not found in the strong winds, an earthquake, or fire. His Word was found in a low whisper(1 Kings 19:11~12). To Elijah who thought he was alone, God told him that there were seven thousand disciples who had not yet kneeled before Baal or matched their lips with his. God enabled Elijah to begin the work of raising disciples. Although it looked like Elijah was discouraged, he was still within the most certain covenant. Likewise, God gives His precise Word to the person who is inside the covenant. You must be inside the covenant in order to hold onto it accurately.
3. The Start of Raising Leaders
God gave the covenants to anoint Hazael as the king of Syria(1 Kings 19:15), to anoint Jehu as the king of Israel(1 Kings 19:16), and to anoint Elisha as the prophet in place of Elijah(1 Kings 19:16). This was the start of raising leaders. Elijah thought that it was the end, but for God, it was the beginning. God raises leaders who are to be kings and presidents. God possesses what He will start for His children.
[Prayer of the Evangelist] Dear God, may I receive Your strength and begin a new start.

[Gospel Memory Verse] Philippians 4:6~7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
