The Shunned Carpenter's Son
Matthew 13:53~58 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.” And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief. (57~58)

People waver when confronted with physical temptations. They are deceived not only by Satan, but by themselves as well. Even though the Savior (the Messiah) came, the Jewish people were deceived by Satan and rejected Jesus. (the Christ) Judaism and the medieval churches that were deceived by religious legalism and tradition persecuted the Early Church and the evangelists who preached the Gospel. How can you gain victory without being deceived by Satan?
1. See Through Satan's Schemes with the Eyes of the Gospel
Satan deceives you through old spiritual problems, (Genesis 3, 6, and 9) the culture of darkness, (Acts 13, 16, and 19) and man’s fate. (the 6 states of the unbeliever) At times, he disguises himself as an angel of light, (2 Corinthians 11:4) or tempts you with great power. (Revelations 12:1~9) In order to discern between what is true and false, you must look through the eyes of the Gospel. “Only Christ” is the key that can unlock and break down Satan’s deceptions.
2. Triumph Against Satan's Schemes Through God’s Methods
Jesus spoke in parables (Matthew 13:10~15 and 57~58) because the methods of the world were trapped within conflicts, division, and “old frames.” That’s why God promised a new covenant (Christ) and a new creation. (His children) People clamored about dying, but the Remnants of the Bible; the Early Church; and Jesus held onto the covenant and saved the world.
The Jewish people shunned Jesus for being a carpenter's son. But history testifies that Jesus is the Christ. With Satan's help, conquerors and powerful nations briefly flourished, but it was the power of the Gospel that eventually changed the world. Today in your field, you, too, will save the world through God's methods.
[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, even if I am shunned by the world, help me to see through Satan's deceptions and triumph using Your methods.

[Deep Questions] Q. What Are the Methods to Overcome Trials?
The Temptations of One’s Physical Desires vs. The Word of God
“Command these stones to become loaves of bread.”(Matthew 4:3)
“It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4)
The Temptation of One’s Honor vs. The Word of God
“If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down,”(Matthew 4:6)
“You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.”(Matthew 4:7)
The Temptation to Change One’s Subject of Worship vs. The Word of God
“All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”(Matthew 4:9)
“Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” (Matthew 4:10)
“Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.” (Matthew 4:11)
