The Miracle of the Five Loaves and Two Fish

Mark 6:30~44 And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late. Send them away to go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.” But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said to him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?” (35~37)

Whenever you start a project or a job, it’s common sense to prepare yourself. However, what would you do if someone makes a request or asks you to do something and you aren’t sufficiently prepared? In today’s scripture, Jesus says, “You give them something to eat.” However, they were gathered in a desolate place where finding anything to eat was nearly impossible. Then, how did God work in that dire situation?

1. Even When There’s Nothing
As many people listened to Jesus, several hours passed, and it became evening. The disciples found five loaves and two fish and handed them to Jesus. Taking what was given to Him, Jesus looked up to Heaven and said a blessing. Then, a miracle arose as five thousand men ate and were satisfied. Afterward, the disciples gathered twelve baskets full of bread and fish. When your life is at its low like the five loaves and two fish or you possess absolutely nothing, then it’s time to look to Jesus.

2. A War without Anything
God’s power is sufficient and complete. He can make works arise when nothing is present. God continually opened the doors of absolute possibility to Jerusalem and Antioch during their bleak economic situations and their absolute impossible reality. The miracle of constructing the tabernacle in the wilderness continues even now as the “life movement.”

You won’t encounter any shortages in the work of saving lives. However, when doing worldly tasks, you will always face deficiencies. God called Abraham as the “principle source of blessings” and gave Isaac the principle well of spring water. If you grab hold of your God-given covenant and give the remainder of your life, then you will confirm your victory in the Mason war, absolute war, and war of life.

[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, even though I have nothing, I do possess the covenant given by You. Help me to hold onto it and challenge toward saving the 237 nations of the world.

[Deep Questions] Q. Will It Be Possible?

When Joseph was sold as a slave, the twenty shekels of silver that the slave trader paid to Joseph’s older brothers equates to roughly six thousand dollars in today’s currency. When Joseph entered Egypt as a slave, he was already in considerable debt. Within that bleak situation, conquering and saving Egypt was
close to absolute impossibility.

But how was Joseph able to change this impossible situation and solve the worldwide problem of famine and become the main figure for world evangelization?

Joseph possessed the mystery of prayer that filled him with Jehovah God. With that prayer, he was able to enjoy being with Him on a daily basis.
