The Person of the Fulfillment of God’s Word (Isaiah 55:11)
1)What is sin?
-Originally, the principle of human beings to live is to obey and stay in the Word of God. To break God’s Word is sin. The core of sin is disobedience and unbelief toward God’s Word (Gen.3:1-7). In other wards, human beings’ betrayal of God and His Word is sin. Instead of God’s Word, they chose Satan’s saying and obeyed it (Gen.3:1-7).
2)relationship between Satan and sin
1 John 3:8a, He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning.
-John Calvin (1509-1564), French Reformer in the sixteenth century, indicated that Satan is “the author, leader, and architect of all malice and iniquity” (Institutes, I.xiv.15). Satan deceived Adam and Eve to disobey God’s Word. The devil has blinded unbelievers not to see the gospel of Jesus.
2 Corinthians 4:4, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
-However, after we believe in Jesus Christ, we become the children of God and have freedom from sin, death, and Satan (John 1:12; Rom.8:1-2; Heb.2:14-15). Therefore, we should and can live according to God’s Word. Especially, we can experience the fulfillment of the Word of God through the pulpit message, remnant message, daily prayer journal message, and retreat message like Remnant Conference in America (RCA). In order to become the person to enjoy the fulfillment of God’s Word, what do we take hold of?
1.The method of God’s ministry
1)God absolutely fulfills His Word
-God is God of the covenant. God is God of the promise. He has accomplished all His Word until now.
Isaiah 55:11, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
-From creation, God has worked through His Word. This is God’s main method for HIs creatures.
2)God’s redemptive plan through His Word
-Especially, God planed to save us and gave us His redemptive plan through His Word. As soon as Adam and Eve were corrupted, God gave the protoevangelium “the first gospel.”
Genesis 3:15, And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
-The seed of the woman (Gen.3:15), the Ark (Gen.6:14,18,20), the lamb of Passover (Exod.12), and blood sacrifices in Leviticus are related to the promise of the coming Messiah. The Old Testament shows mainly God’s promise of salvation through human kings, prophets, and priests. God fulfilled it through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ who is true King, Prophet, and Priest.
Revelation 19:16, And He (Jesus) has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Hebrews 4:14, Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Luke 24:19, And He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
-Therefore, if anyone believes in Jesus Christ, he/she definitely receives salvation and become the child of God according to the gospel.
Romans 1:16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
2.The attitude to experience the fulfillment of God’s Word
1)Eagerly anticipate and long for God’s Word
-Through the pulpit message, remnant message, prayer journal message, and retreat message, God says important messages to you. We need the heart to expect that God gives His Word through ministers, pastors, and the Bible. The person who loves wholeheartedly God’s Word can find and see God’s message to him/her.
Acts 17:11 (ESV) Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
-After you receive the Word of God, you should examine it with other messages that you received and receives. God’s Word for you complements and fits rightly all together.
2)Meditate the Word of God
-Meditation is one of the significant attitudes of God’s children to receive the fulfillment and guidance of God’s Word. Isaac is a representative figure of meditation.
Genesis 24:63, And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming.
-The Bible clearly tells that the blessed is the person of meditation that makes people prosperous according to God’s will (Psalm 1:1-2) Joshua 1:8, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
-God fully accomplishes His Word on which HIs children meditate.
Conclusion
1)Spiritual growth through unity of faith and spiritual knowledge
Ephesians 4:13, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
-We need spiritual growth to the whole measure of the fullness of Jesus Christ. In order to receive it, we should have faith as well as the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must read, memorize, meditate, study the Word of God. We should hear the message about Jesus in order to have faith (Rom.10:17). The balance and unity between faith and spiritual knowledge can lead us into spiritual maturity.
