Lesson 6 - Who is the Holy Sprit?

God decreed to save us. By sending Christ, God fulfilled that work. He lives in the hearts of His children, and promised to be with us forever with the Holy Sprit.

1. Who is the Holy Spirit?

1) The Spirit of God

Joel 2:28 - "And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions."

Acts 2:17-18 - "And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those day I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy."

2) The Spirit of Christ

Acts 16:7 - "And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them."

3) The Spirit of truth

John 14:17 - "even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you."

4) He is God Himself

John 14:6-17 - "Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works" (v.10)

5) This is God's method for being with us. The place where God dwells is the temple. The believers are the temple in which God dwells. Inviting Jesus into your heart as your Master is acceptance.

   (1) 1Corinthians 3:16 - "Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?"

   (2) Romans 8:2 - "For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death"

   (3) Jhon 14:16-17 - "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth,

whom the world cannor receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you."

2. There is only one thing believers have to do. And that is receive the filling of the Holy Spirit. (Act 1:8)

1) Be filled with God.

2) Be filled with Christ.

3) Power and evidence will arise.

4) World evangelization will surely be fulfiled.

3. How can you receive the filling of the Holy Spirit?

1) Only God's children can receive the filiing of the Holy Spirit.

2) God grants it to those who are saved and believe. As a child of God, all you need to do is believe in this fact and pray. Believing in the Word of God in itself is receiving the filling of the Holy Spirit. (Act 1:4-8)

3) When you pray, you can receive the filling of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:14, 2:1-4)

If you pray for the filling of the Holy Spirit at least once a day, God grants you new strength and answer your prayers. When you receive the filling of the Holy Spirit, God grants you wisdom to surpass your powerlessness ans ignorance.

4. If you receive the filling of the Holy Spirit, all problems will be solved.

1) Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Sprit has come upon you, and you will be my withness in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

2) Acts 4:1-12 - "Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, 'Rulers of the people and elders, if we we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead - by him this man is standing before you well." (v.8-10)

3) Acts 3:1-12 - "But Peter said, 'I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Chirist of Nazareth, rise up and walk!' And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God." (v.6-8)

4) Acts 8:4-8 - "Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was much joy in the city." (v.5-8)
