Those inside the Covenant

Matthew 8:5-13 When he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.” And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 11.4, 2018. 2nd: Those Inside the Covenant (Mt 8:5-13)

A centurion asked Jesus to heal one of his servants, then he served Jesus as his master. The centurion believed that his servant would recover by the power of Jesus’s words. You, too, will surely witness true healing by standing in the line of this covenant and confessing your faith. Prayers of faith have the ability to heal spiritual illnesses, and to move the Heavenly Throne to change people. What kind of faith did the centurion possess?

1. Stand in the Line of Faith That Believes in God’s Absolute Sovereignty
The centurion believed in God’s absolute sovereignty. Joseph didn’t lose faith even when he was sold as a slave in Egypt because he believed in God’s absolute sovereignty as well. During the Exodus Journey, while King Pharaoh and his army were chasing the Israelites and the crisis of the Red Sea emerged, Moses believed in God’s absolute sovereignty that He would lead them into Canaan. Even David held onto this faith as he stood before Goliath. When you hold onto God’s Word through the pulpit message and stand in the line of the faith, you will experience God’s works.

2. Stand in the Line of Faith That Knows Christ Who Is God’s Absolute Method
The centurion knew exactly who Jesus was, so that was why he requested Jesus to “only say the word.” The centurion was aware of Jesus’ authority and content, as well as the absoluteness of the covenant. The person who knows this amazing fact will never fail. As long as you stay within this covenant, the five powers (spiritual, intellectual, physical, financial, and man power) will be established.

3. Stand in the Line of Faith That Knows God’s Absolute Plan
The moment you grab hold of the God-given covenant, God’s works arise. Amazing works arose the moment Hannah and Samuel prayed. David knew that the armies of angels would be mobilized the moment he grabbed hold of God’s Word and prayed. King Hezekiah also knew this and began praying inside the temple. Faced with a great crisis, the Early Church prayed and received the answer of its enemies collapsing. You just need to stand in the line of the covenant and the line of faith as well.

[Prayer of the Evangelist] Dear God, please give me faith in Your absolute sovereignty and absolute method which is Christ. Let me stand in the line of faith by knowing and enjoying Your absolute plan.

[Bible Reading] Mark 6

[Gospel Memory Verse] And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12)
