Two Peoples during the 40 Years in the Wilderness
Numbers 14:1~10│ “Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.” (9)

Without fail, God always keeps His promises. When God led the Israelites out of the land of slavery in Egypt, He repeatedly said, “I am the Lord your God.” However, whenever opportunities arose, they complained; fell into unbelief; and said that it would have been better if they had died in Egypt rather than in the wilderness. Despite being liberated from horrendous and appalling slavery, the Israelites still doubted, complained, and were entirely weak. Regardless of their state, what did God desire from them?
1. What Did God Want Them to See in the Wilderness?
Because you are God’s child, He wants you to enjoy the blessings of the throne and to remember and enjoy your status that is backed by His Kingdom. All you need to do is remember that the whole process of meeting unexpected events and different types of people is within the Covenant Journey. If there’s anything that needs to be changed or renewed, God will continue to refine you through problems and conflicts. In doing so, God will give you the strength to overcome the forces of darkness, and He will reveal answers in advance through worship.
2. Two Types of Peoples
Despite receiving what was needed and being led through the wilderness for forty years, there were still some Israelites who had doubts. Hearing the rumors about the great and numerous descendants of Anak, the Israelites were afraid and overwhelmed by the world and reality. God’s Word that they had continuously heard suddenly disappeared, and they worried and were anxious regarding their own safety and the future of their children.
On the contrary, Joshua and Caleb, in the face of absolute impossibility, weren’t shaken. Instead, whenever crises arose, they held onto God’s Word and His promises that were to be fulfilled. As a result, before they even went into Canaan, they enjoyed the answer of conquering in advance.
Dear God, in this world that seems like the wilderness, please grant me the grace to view what I must absolutely see. During this 4th Industrial Revolution and non-contact era, raise me as a witness to save those who are suffering from emotional and mental afflictions. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
* Why Is It Ideal to Meet God in the Mountains, Near Rivers, and by the Sea?
Why did God call me here?
Just as there were reasons why God called people to Mt. Sinai; Mt. Horeb; the Mt. of Olives, and led them to the Jordan River; the Red Sea; and the wilderness, there’s a definite reason why God has called you to this place and not anywhere else. He wants you to meet Him here.
“...the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground.”Hebrews 11:38
