Hymn #315 My Jesus, I Love Thee (Unified Hymn 512)
When you look in the Bible, before evangelism even took place, the setting to enjoy spiritual blessings arose first. The "Mark's Upper Room Movement" took place after the disciples came down from the Mt. of Olives and made a "spiritual setting” in the upper room of Mark's house. As soon as Paul was commissioned as a missionary, he made his “spiritual setting" first. (Acts 13:1-4) When God sent Paul to Macedonia, this setting had already been set. (Acts 16:6-10) Before going to Rome, when Paul was in Tyrannus, the works of Mark's upper room were repeated as is. (Acts 19:1~7) Then, what must you set?
1. Prepare the Most Basic
Basic preparations must surely take place. "You are the Christ the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) This is the first message of the Darakbang evangelism movement. After this confession of faith, on the Mt. of Transfiguration, Jesus informed the disciples that Moses and Elijah weren't the answer and made them discard what had remained. (Matthew 17:1-9) Later, Jesus solved all problems on the cross and then resurrected, (Matthew 28:16-20) This Jesus called the disciples to the Mt. of Olives and gave them a mission of the times. (Acts 1:1-8) As the disciples held onto that, they gathered at Mark's upper room. (Acts 2:1-47) In doing so, they confirmed what had to be discarded and kept. If the basic things are prepared, then the evangelism movement will inevitably arise.
2. A Mission Given to Church Officers
Possessing these basic things, a mission was given to church officers. The key here was that Jesus had already raised 70 disciples and designated regions for them. Because it was set up like that, the people of Acts 2:9-11 were attached to the disciples, and among them, church officers were raised.
3. The Works of the Word That Arise
As a result, the Word worked in the entire region and nobody was able to block it. Next, the individual was revived first. Then the Word spread to the priests, to the court of the Pharisees through Stephen, to Samaria, to the eunuch, to Paul, to Tabitha, and to Simon the tanner and works began to take place.
Having a "spiritual setting" take place before going out to evangelize is grace.
Dear God, please grant me the blessings of having the exact works of Mark's upper room take place in me, the church, and the field. For this to arise, may the "spiritual setting" occur first. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
