"My 24 Hours" That the Early Church Disciples Enjoyed
Acts 2:42~47 / They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (42)
Hymn #288 Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine (Unified Hymn 204)
Within situations where nothing could be done, the disciples of the Early Church did the most accurate world evangelization. Then, with what did they do "24"? They did four works within worship. (Acts 2:42) They confirmed the stream of the Word by "devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching." They had "fellowship" with others regardless of whether those people corresponded with them or not and saw the stream of the believers who received answers. By the “breaking of bread,” they saw the extent of the stream of the Gospel. Finally, they "devoted themselves to prayer." In other words, they saw the stream of answers to prayer. In doing so, they did "only Christ; only God's Kingdom; and only the Holy Spirit."
1. Experiencing 1, 3, & 8
The disciples of the Early Church discovered and experienced everything from "only Christ, (1) only God's Kingdom, (3) and only Holy Spirit." (8) For them, the very first response that arose was the answer of the "day of Pentecost." (Acts 2:1) In addition, they began to see the future. (Acts 2:17-18) In this way, they received the answers of prayers continually taking place "every day in the temple and in their homes." (Acts 2:46~47) More importantly, the disciples of the Early Church held onto the covenants 1, 3, and 8; gathered; and prayed with earnest hearts. (Acts 1:14) If you hold onto these covenants and pray earnestly, God will give answers at the most accurate time.
2. The Blessings of the Church
You need to know what the true blessings of the church are. The works that arose at both Mark's upper room and at the Church at Antioch were the true blessings of the church. In the Church of Rome, where the people of Romans 16 had gathered, evangelized Rome. This is the real blessing that the church will receive. In the end, the Early Church revealed the perfect model of the church.
3. To Leave Behind
If you're really holding onto the covenant, there's something that you'll leave behind. If it's the real Gospel, there's something that'll be left behind. They are what God has "hidden from long ages past" and "what will remain forever." (Romans 16:25-27) In other words, it's the continuation of the "Life Movement, Disciple Movement, and Remnant Movement.”
This was the Early Church. You, too, can always do "24" through 1, 3, and 8.
[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, within today's important field, may Your covenant that contains answers be fulfilled. While praying throughout the day, may Your Kingdom be established in the field. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
