The Greatest in This Land and the Afterlife
Matthew 18:12~14 / In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost. (14)
Hymn #357 Encamped Along the Hills of Light (Unified Hymn)
The Bible is a record of the "Gospel" and the "destruction of Israel." Powerful nations that were seized by Satan ignited wars and troubles and enslaved weaker nations. Within that field, Israel was enslaved; held captive; was colonized; and ran errands. Those took place because the people who had the Gospel had to relay it in order to save the world. People have fallen into both “consequential sins" and the "Original Sin" of being separated from God. Furthermore, because they don't know what "Original Sin" is, they are mired in the "sin of being deceived." That's why Jesus came and spoke about “only God's Kingdom.” In today's Scripture, the disciples asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" Jesus answered, "This little child is the greatest." Three points can be found within that answer.
1. If You Come Out of Human Life, Works Will Arise
Rather than a "walk of faith," there are many people who look and rely on people and live centered on “human life." This was true of Joseph's brothers, the people of the Exodus who grumbled in the wilderness, the people who lived during the fourteen generation of Judges, and the people who lived incorrect Christian lives in the Middle Ages. You need to escape from this cursed "human life." Ultimately, God used Samuel; David; and Martin Luther who held onto the Word and lived their "walks of faith" and turned the world upside down.
2. Just Like a Child, You Must Believe in God
To be "like a child" means to believe in God just as you believe in your parents. You must also believe that the Triune God and His angels always guard His children. Joseph, David, the three young men from Babylon, Daniel, and Esther believed in these facts.
3. Not a Single Child Must Not Be Looked Down On
If you really believe in God and truly know His power, you won't look down on children. Rather, you must have the spirit of a shepherd who rejoices in finding one lost sheep among a hundred sheep. The 120 disciples of Mark's upper room, who understood these words, conquered the world.
Right now, you must grab hold of the covenant and experience it. You must break free from Satan's strategy of looking at people, and instead, look to God who allows you to enjoy the works of the throne no matter what the situation may be. In the end, the entire world must pray that great difficulties will not come to the younger generation.
[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, may today be the day when I grab hold of the precious covenant. May today's worship completely change my life and break down darkness. May today be the day when I become a true believer who stands as a witness and saves lives. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
