The Questions of Those Who Test
Matthew 19:3-12 / Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?" (3)
Hymn #369 What a Friend We Have in Jesus (Unified Hymn 487)
When you're in great pain, if prayer doesn't take place, you'll have a lot of concerns and thoughts. As a result, it'll get more and more difficult. However, if you keep praying over them, a different answer will emerge. What's clear is that the true answer will come under the mask of suffering. For God, He conquered the world through the 120 people who knew that. In order to test Jesus, the Pharisees asked a wrong question. You mustn't be deceived by listening to people's incorrect words as you live your walk of faith. Instead, you must listen to God's Word and solely follow it. How did the 120 believers of the Early Church evangelize the world?
1. The Early Church Which Held onto the Fundamental Covenant
Jesus constantly spoke about the Holy Trinity, the "Throne's Power," and God's Kingdom. Furthermore, He said to solely hold onto those covenants and pray. By doing that today, the “fundamental answer" and works will begin. Also, by knowing what prayer is, spiritual changes will take place as well. Finally, the fundamentals will change, and the power to change the world will be formed.
2. The Early Church Which Chose the Spiritual Aspects
Whenever you hold onto the covenant and choose spiritual aspects, the “100year answer" will come. Just like Isaac, only when you receive the 100-year answer will you be able to evangelize the world. In today's Scriptures, the Pharisees asked Jesus a carnal question, "Can I get a divorce or not?" Jesus even said within that God's plan existed. Unlike the Pharisees, you mustn't solely follow what's physical and worldly; instead, like Joseph, you must make a spiritual choice to find God's plan in everything.
3. The Early Church Which Saw the Future
When you look into the future, the "1,000-year answer" will come. For Jesus, He saw the future; blessed the children who came to Him; and placed His hands on them. (Matthew 19:13-15) Jethro's help of Moses was the "1,000-year answer." When Samuel visited David; anointed him with oil; and relayed the future, that, too, was the "1,000-year answer."
There's one last aspect that must be held onto. When you pray, "eternal answers" will surely come.
[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, thank you for making today the time to look at Christ through the believers of the Early Church who saved the world in all situations. Please open my spiritual eyes so that I can embrace my mission to save the world. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
