July 9 Spiritual Independence (The Word) and the 25hr Answer (Ge 12:1-4) 

 

 

Int.

The first message God gave Abraham was to “leave”. 

God wanted Abraham to leave the incorrect place since He was with him. 

 

1. Incorrect things (Ge 3, 6, 11) – It is to come out from the incorrect things of being self centered, people 

centered, and world centered. 

2. Incorrect works (Ge 11:1-32) – It is to come out from the incorrect works of my success, worldly success. 

3. Incorrect decision (Ge 12:10) – It is to come out from the incorrect decision that come from my thoughts, 

my motives, my unbelief.

 

1. The strength to not rely on anyone else comes from the Word.

1) Most people are outside of the Word. That is why they only know about food, clothing, and shelter (Ge 

37:4-5).

2) Hold to the covenant to the point where it shows up in your dreams (Ge 37:6-9).

3) If you simply keep God’s Word in your heart, you will be able to survive anywhere (Ge 37:11).

 

2. You will be able to survive anywhere if you remain in the Word. 

1) To those in the Word, crises are the greatest opportunity. That is why they are unafraid. 

2) Those in the Word are not envious of the world because they do not need those things. 

3) Those in the Word do not disregard the present reality because they know about Satan’s works. If you 

disregard the present reality, you will be deceived by Satan.

3. If God is with you, then you will be able to survive on your own even if nobody helps you. 

1) Because the works of the Triune God and the power of the throne belong to you. 

2) Because the status of being God’s child and the background of the absolute answer belong to you. 

3) Because the authority of Jesus’ name and the background of the throne belong to you. 

 

Conc.

Because God is with you, you do not need your things. 

1) WITH – You do not need your own thoughts because God is with you.

2) Immanuel – You do not need your assertions either because the God of salvation is with us. 

3) Oneness – Your position is not needed because there is the will of God with all things.
