Settling Accounts

 

Matthew 25:1~46 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. (13)

  In Matthew 25, the incidents that took place in the church during the end times are recorded. Currently, churches all over the world are closing their doors, and the world is lost in crises within spiritual problems. The most important work that you must do in the end times is saving churches. Before leaving this world, you must leave behind the church that stands for eternity and future generations. What kind of devotion must you do for this work?

 

1. The Parable of the Ten Virgins(Matthew 25:1~12)
  In ancient Israel, a wedding consisted of the engagement ceremony, marriage ceremony, and the wedding reception or banquet. In the wedding ceremony, when the bride welcomed the groom, the bride’s friends would wait while holding a lamp. Jesus used this parable to describe five wise virgins who brought lamps along with lamp oil and five foolish virgins who brought only lamps. The lamps were necessary, but they were not essential. The most essential part was the oil which represented the Holy Spirit. Jesus used this parable to describe believers who have form, but don’t possess any power in the end times.

 

2. The Parable of the Talents(Matthew 25:13~30)
  The servants who had received five talents and two talents left as many talents as they had received, but the one who received just one talent buried it in the ground. This parable is a warning about burying the talents that God has given you for the sake of the Gospel, evangelism, and missions and not using them. It signifies that talents that are not used for evangelism and missions are not needed in the end times.

 

3. The Parable of the Sheep and Goats(Matthew 25:31~46)
  Traditionally, there were lots of sheep and goats in Israel. Goats constantly moved and wandered. Sheep, on the other hand, were very gentle and remained still. Jesus prophesied that in the end times, the goats would create a large flock and bring chaos to the church and the young sheep would helplessly remain still. You must be able to separate sheep and goats inside the church.

 

[Prayer of the Evangelist] Dear God, I will devote myself properly with the strength You have given me to block crises that come to the churches of the world and the crises of spiritual problems. Help me to see all circumstances with the eyes of the Gospel and evangelism and receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
