Those who accurately know the past can be liberated from it. Paul realized why Israel was enslaved, faced wars, was held captive, and became colonized. A walk of faith that doesn't understand the Gospel is the same as idol worship. A life of religious living can never defeat Satan or save people from disasters. That's why Paul realized why God gave "only Christ." He confessed that knowing Christ was the greatest knowledge, and being found by Christ was the greatest answer. By realizing and believing in Christ, not only will darkness be completely destroyed, you'll be saved and be completely liberated from the past.
