Prayer of God’s Child (Daniel 6:10)

-All religions have practices of their own prayer. Many in different religions testified they received answers like healing for their illness, finding their fiancé, making money, promotion in their job,  success (acceptance) in various examination, and so on. Why do they receive answer? It is because the devil exists behind answers.

1 Corinthians 10:20, Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.

-Because there are activities of demons in all religions, people who worship idols can receive temporary, false answers.

-In contrast, how can we receive God’s answers? The first and basic qualification to receive God’s answer is to be the children of God.

John 1:12,  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

-When you confess, accept, and believe in Jesus as your Lord, Savior, and Master, you become the child of God and can receive God’s answer naturally.

-Today we must hold on to the prayer that God’s children must enjoy through Daniel and others.

1.Set a time for prayer!

1)Daniel’s scheduled prayer time

-Daniel had “his custom since early days” to “kneel down on his knees three times” every single day (Dan.6:10). Daniel might have his habit to pray to God in the land of Israelites before he was taken as a captive. At least, he enjoyed the mystery of prayer when he was in Babylon. Therefore, he decided to refuse the king’s food that is provided after idol worship.

Daniel 1:8, But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

-Although he was a captive, Daniel became a governor in Babylon and Persia. He was very busy in his duty and job. However, his priority is to pray to God in his scheduled prayer time. Daniel knew the mystery of prayer that is to have fellowship with God.

2)disciples’ scheduled prayer time

-Apostles and disciples of the Early Church also had scheduled prayer time.

Acts 3:1, Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour (3PM).

-In their scheduled prayer time, Peter and John met the lame and healed him in Jesus’ name (Acts 3:6). Paul had same habit to pray to God with scheduled prayer time as well. Through this time, Paul met disciples like Lydia and a jailer in Philippian prison and healed a demon-possessed girl (Acts 16:13-40).

-Scheduled prayer time is one of the characteristics of the faithful and the remnants in the Bible.

3)Our scheduled prayer time

-You can set times for prayer. one time, two times, three times, five times, seven times per day. It depends on your schedule and plan. There are many various scheduled prayer time in the Bible. However, at least we must have two times per day: Morning and night.

Psalm 1:2, But his (the blessed’s) delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

-The blessed one is the saved one. The children of God enjoy God’s Word in their lives. Morning and night they should have a deep prayer time through meditation. In the morning, we plan our today within God’s Word. In the night, we reflect and check up God’s answer and guidance in our today through prayer and mediation.

-Accordingly, we have to at least two times per day to pray to God. Choose your most comfortable time without interruptions. In this time, turn off your smartphone, laptop, and other electronic device. Focus and concentrate on God in your today!

2.Pray with thanksgiving!

1)Daniel’s thanksgiving prayer

-When he prayed to God, Daniel gave thanksgiving to God in spite of the threat of death (Dan.6:10). Daniel experienced God’s answer, guidance, and protection in his captive life and governor life. Therefore, he could pray to God with thanksgiving within his crisis. This is the attitude God’s children to pray to the Creator, Almighty, Sovereign God.

Philippians 4:6-7,  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

-We as the children of God can pray to God for everything with thanksgiving. If you can offer thanksgiving to God in your hardship and problems, you really believe in and rely on your God. God provides you the evidence  of Immanuel through His peace in your heart and mind.

2)Prayer to enjoy God’s salvation

-In his crisis, Daniel prayed in his home “with his windows open toward Jerusalem” (Dan. 6:10). It shows that Daniel remembered that the destruction of Israelites resulted from idol worship. When he prayed to God, Daniel reminded the temple in Jerusalem where Israelites worshipped God through the blood sacrifice. Consequently, in his scheduled prayer time, Daniel prayed with God’s redemptive covenant.
Habakkuk 3:17-18, Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— 18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

-Regardless of our situation and problem, we can rejoice in God and enjoy God’s salvation through Jesus Christ. This is the best prayer topic and content that God’s children pray to God every single day.

Conclusion

1)Pray according to God’s will!

-How can we receive God’s answer continuously? Ask all things according to God’s Will.

1 John 5:14, Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

-How can we know God’s will and plan? We can know them within God’s Word.

Psalm 107:11, Because they rebelled against the words of God, And despised the counsel (plan) of the Most High,

-Therefore, pray with the Word of God. Find and hold onto biblical passages from the messages. Write, memorize, meditate upon this Word every single day in this week!
