Six Authorities (Luke 10:19)

 

1.Autority over original sin - Genesis 3:15

1)Every person is born with original sin, and no man can overcome it.

2)Jesus has both divine nature and human nature): He is a sinless Man. 

3)By Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, original sin was conquered. 

 

2.Authority over the power of idols (Ephesians 2:2)

1)Tangible idols. Money (mammonism), man-made statues and figures (religions), people (significant others, children, celebrities, etc), and more

2)Intangible idols: Intellect science, pride/ ego, etc

3)Proclamation of the gospel will break any and every idols. 

 

3.Authority over mental disorders (Matthew 11:28)

1)Stress, anxiety/ panic disorders, bipolarism, obsessive compulsive disorder, and more all stem from unbelief. 

2)Demons may affect our mental state and influence how we think. 

3)John 14:27 - True peace only comes from enjoying Christ. 

 

4.Authority over life’s problems (Genesis 3:16-20)

1)Family problems

2)Financial problems

3)Social/political unrest; wars, poverty, and diseases

4)Acts 8:4-8 - There was great joy in the city.

 

5.Authority over afterlife (Heberws 9:27)

1)background of hell for unbelievers

2)Unbelievers’ afterlife

3)Influence of the power of hell on earth. 

 

6.Authority over spiritual inheritance (Exodus 20:4-5)

1)Curses of idols worship / religious practices pass down for generations.

2)Spiritual problems are magnified as they are passed down the generation (Abraham to Isaac to Jacob)

3)Only the power of the Gospel can server the flow of spiritual problems in family lines. 

-Proclaim the Gospel to people. We have the authority over originalsin

 

conclusion- How do we use these authorities?

1)Discover the Kingdom of God in you daily living Ask and wait for it (Acts 1:3)

2)Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:12-18)

3)Stay alert in prayer (1 Peter 5:8)

4)Find true satisfaction form the Word (Psalm 119:103)
