John Bunyan was imprisoned for preaching the Gospel. During that time, he wrote the Pilgrim’s Progress, a work that later impacted the entire world. When people usually reach a dead end, most give up. Religion teaches the message, “you reap what you sow” and Buddhism tells people to endure, hoping for a better afterlife. Some even seek guidance from evil spirits through fortune-telling. However, it’s the Spirit of the Lord who truly leads you. Acts 16:6-7 When you pray, God sends His angels and reveals to you what’s ahead. Acts 16:9 That’s why you must hold onto the covenant within the Bartizans, Journeys, and Guideposts that Jesus gives. Paul knew this and entered into deep prayer.
1. Life’s Turning Point
On the night when all the doors were closed in Troas, the door to Macedonia opened. This fulftlled God’s Word that said Paul was chosen to stand before kings and Gentiles. Joseph prayed holding onto God’s covenant and eventually saw a vision of world evangelization. God appeared in the fIre and told Moses to go offer the blood sacrifIce. David held onto the covenant while tending to the sheep and that eventually led him to face Goliath. When Elisha and Obadiah followed the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God used them to change the world.
2. The Turning Point of the Church
Paul met Lydia on his way to pray. In that same region, he healed a demonpossessed girl that no one else could heal. In Thessalonica, which led towards Rome, God had already prepared Jason. God also prepared the married couple Priscilla and Aquila to meet Paul, in which helped in the work of transforming the world.
3. The Turning Point that Changed the World Rome
Paul held onto the clear covenant that he must testify in Rome. God confirmed Paul’s words. When the ship Paul was on was caught in a storm, an angel of the Lord appeared and said, “You must stand before Caesar.”
You too must make a resolution. In times of illness or crisis, you must fIrmly hold onto God’s covenant. Don’t rely on anything else. Simply enter into prayer before God.
Dear God, although it’s a short time, may today be an important time. Help me see Your complete covenant. As I see my life’s turning point, help me to also see the turning points of my church, the posterity, and the world. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
