And Jacob Was Left Alone

 

Genesis 32:21~32 Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.” (28)

When Jacob solely concentrated on God at the Jabbok River, God called him “Israel” and showed him the covenant of world evangelization that would be fulfilled through him. Similarly, God has prepared this blessing for you. Yielding everything to others, embracing them, and gaining victory without competing was the covenant of Israel. How can you receive that same covenant?

1. Enter God’s Absolute Sovereignty and Absolute Covenant
God chose Jacob from the very beginning(Genesis 25:25). This was God’s unchanging absolute sovereignty. Moreover, God’s absolute covenant for world evangelization will undoubtedly be fulfilled. Jacob confirmed his blessing during the time of concentrating on God(Genesis 32:21~32). Likewise, you are inside God’s absolute sovereignty and His absolute covenant. Hence, there aren’t any reasons for you to be anxious or afraid.

2. Enter God’s Absolute Answer
Jacob fully concentrated on God to the point where he wrestled with Him. As a result, Jacob called that place Peniel which means, “For I have seen God face to face.” At that time, he was given a new name, “Israel.” Like this, those who grab hold of the absolute covenant inside God’s absolute sovereignty will receive the absolute answer that cannot be blocked. This is the answer of a witness that is given to those who hold onto the Gospel.

God granted eternal blessings to Jacob who entered the absolute sovereignty, the absolute covenant, and the absolute answer. You, too, are inside these eternal blessings of God. Today, may you restore those blessings that were given to Jacob.

[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, my life is in Your absolute sovereignty. May I follow the absolute covenant of world evangelization and enjoy the absolute answer that saves the age. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Q. What Is Your Winning Move Today?

There are times when you have to make the winning move.

A competition is completed by defeating your opponent or you succumbing to defeat. The result is exceedingly clear and distinct. It isn’t ambiguous.

Jacob made his winning move at the Jabbok River.
He knew that the One who gave the covenant and the One who could fulfill the covenant was only God.

Jacob who laid everything down and was left alone had the winning move of solely concentrating on God. It was his covenantal resolution.

Today, what winning move must you make regarding your God-given covenant and field?
