A Public Servant to Save the 237 Nations
Acts 8:26-40 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. (26-28)

In God’s perspective, the people of the 237 nations are Adam’s descendants and are of one race. Therefore, the entire world needs the Gospel. However, churches are closing down and endless spiritual problems are arising in developed countries that are devoid of the Gospel. The reason why the Israel nation faced wars, captivity, slavery, and colonization was because they lost hold of the Gospel. On the contrary, knowing the Gospel solves every problem. If this is so, what must the public servant who has the Gospel be able to see?
1. Public Servants Who Saw the Age
The Bible records the public servants who saw the age. These people who sincerely loved the nation were utilized by God. Joseph saw Egypt and the age, and David, who was both a soldier and public official, saw the Philistines through his spiritual eyes. Obadiah saw the age ruled by the evil King Ahab, and then there was Daniel and his three friends who lived in the period of Babylon captivity. In the time of Rome, Gaius became an indispensable figure to the Early Church. (Romans 16:23) Every one of these figures saw the age and saved the nations and their leaders.
2. Knowing the Subjects Who Need God’s Power
The public servant who has the Gospel will realize the subjects who need God’s power. You must find the Empty Places, (TCK) Isolated Places, (North Korean defectors, refugees, and multi-ethnics) Discarded Places, (NCK and those who don’t receive any benefits) Darkness Zones, (juvenile crimes) Blind Spots, (people with spiritual diseases) Disaster Zones, (addicts) Future Zones, (raising gifted individuals) and save those subjects in those places.
3. Public Servants Who See Places That Need the Light
Public servants and leaders who have the Gospel will see the places that need the light of Christ. These people are the ones who rise above foolish ideologies to love people and save their nations. Jesus’s disciples asked the resurrected Jesus when He would restore the nation of Israel, but this question was loaded with Jewish ideologies and political concerns. (Acts 1:6-7) At that time, Samaria and Jerusalem had conflicting ideologies (Acts 8:4-8) and the Jewish people held onto the ideology of withholding the Gospel from their neighboring countries. (Acts 8:26-40) This is the place where the apostles and disciples of the Early Church shared the light of the Gospel. Even today, God needs these public servants.
[Prayer of the Evangelist] Dear God, open my eyes to see the people who need Your power and the places that need the light. May the public officials and evangelists to save the 237 nations arise.
