MAY 20 Sat.
Christ Who Stopped the Furious Squall
Mark 4:35-41 / He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (39)
Hymn #371 Master, the Tempest Is Raging (Unified Hymn 419)
You can turn unexpected difficulties or dangers into opportunities. Those who were prepared for this were the Remnants during the age of the Old Testament. When the disciples were on a boat with Jesus, a furious squall came up. After Jesus calmed the wind and the sea, He asked the scared disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" When extreme fear comes, those without the Gospel and the covenant will become greatly shocked. As a result, lifelong traumas; scars; and spiritual problems will arise. However, for those who have the covenant, things that last a lifelong will be prepared. You just need to prepare this vessel. When you encounter difficulties or major accidents, you must remember three points.
1. What God Has Given You because You Need It
Disasters cannot defeat Christ or even you who have Him. That's why faith must be nurtured. Nothing can stop the Gospel. You need to know your status of Jesus being with you. Because the 7 Remnants knew their status, they were able to overcome any and all difficulties.
2. A Time to Discover What's Important
You must have a time to discover your weaknesses and the true power of Christ. When you proclaim the name of Christ who has blocked Satan and disasters and has forgiven you, the power to bind darkness and fundamental disasters will appear. It's also the time to discover the meaning in your walk of faith. By knowing the significance of the Lord being with you, terrible storms won't pose as problems.
3. An Important Start
Everyone has a past, present, and future. By possessing these three, you must have an important start. Your past must become a complete springboard. Your today is the time to turn all storms and hardships into blessings. Finally, your future is the beginning of world evangelization.
Before you're enslaved in Egypt and held captive in Babylon, you must hold onto this covenant; revive it; and conquer it. Before you get sick or face difficulties, the real covenant is to gain strength.
[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, please help me realize what's truly important; the meaning of the storm; and the reason and mission of those who've received salvation. Grant me Your covenant to overcome any dangerous situation. Even before dangers come, help me become Your child who's equipped with power. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
