Gideon’s Warriors

Judges 7:1~8 And the Lord said to Gideon, “With the 300 men who lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand, and let all the others go every man to his home.” So the people took provisions in their hands, and their trumpets. And he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the 300 men. And the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.(7~8)

  The world tells you to “Try your best,” and “Work hard.” The world also tells you that “You can do it!” The world imprints its ideology that you can do everything on your own without God. The words sound nice, but you know very well the Tower of Babel disaster when man made efforts apart from God. What must you understand to enjoy the blessings of evangelism and missions in order to be used to accomplish them?

1. The Reason of Israel’s Destruction
  As a nation, Israel experienced seven disasters. Israel became slaves, lost the Ark of the Covenant through war, became colonized, and offered tributes to powerful nations. When Israel lost hold of the Gospel and evangelism and missions, they became miserable. The same result is repeating itself in this age. Churches are closing their doors because they have lost hold of the Gospel. There is an urgent need for the Gospel Movement in order to restore it.

2. The Work You Must Do
  The Gospel Movement can only be accomplished with the power that God gives. There is nothing that you need to do. If you just believe in the covenant and the Word and just follow, amazing works of saving souls will take place. Paul confessed that, “Your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”(1 Corinthians 2:5) When Paul’s confession becomes your own confession, you will leave God’s power as your masterpiece.

3. God’s Heart
  Before an important battle, God did not need strong, courageous people because victory in war was not in the hands of the man, but in God’s. What God wants is restoration of the covenant from the past, present and future. No matter how powerless you may be, as long as you hold onto the covenant, you will see God’s works.

[Prayer of the Evangelist] Dear God, let the true devotion of holding onto Your Word as the covenant begin today. Help me to restore the true Gospel, evangelism and missions.
