Hymn # (Unified Hymn 568)
[Message Video]
David's life is shown through the Bible because God's children have something to learn. They need to know what the Gospel and prayer are in order to properly see the world. Through David's life journey, what must you hold onto?
1. What Is Imprinted Becomes the Fruit
Most people think and act based on what they’ve heard, seen, and felt when they were young. Children who’ve been abused mentally and physically suffer from severe psychological trauma and struggle with emotional stress such as anger and helplessness well into adulthood. If God’s Word is imprinted from childhood, then a life of praise and prayer will take root, and spiritual strength will be gained to help those around you and to save the world. While watching over his sheep, David always looked to God, held onto the Word, praised, and prayed. In the end, God prepared in advance the throne for him.
2. Morning, Afternoon, and Night Prayer
David prayed in the morning and looked to God. Psalm 5:3 As soon as you open your eyes, it’s good to start the day with prayer. As you prepare for the day, you can pray as you wash, get dressed, or organize your backpack. David was conscious of God all day long and prayed in the midst of all works.Psalm
23:1~6 David enjoyed God who was with him and led him with His rod and staff. Even at night, David remembered and enjoyed God's care.Psalm
17:3 During the time before David went to sleep, he asked questions and gained tremendous strength. That was the time when David and the heavenly throne were connected.
Ultimately, when God’s Word comes upon you, your soul; heart; mind; and body will be revived and healed.
Dear God, through all the works that happen today, may I be imprinted with the Gospel, rooted in prayer, and possess the nature of evangelism. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
* Do You Have a Prayer to Start the Day?
“O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.” Psalm 5:3
